The Big Sky Institute is a startup institute with an ambitious vision to help transform the role of science in society. In a rapidly changing world, new approaches for research, communication, and education are needed to make science more relevant and useful for grand experiments like the GYE and applications far beyond the boundaries of the GYE.

Although BSI has been very successful obtaining competitive grants and partnership projects, those funding sources do not typically support new and innovative science approaches, especially entrepreneurial ones bringing together non-traditional partners or taking a calculated risk. This is where private donations can make a fundamental difference.

Your support to BSI will enable us to address pressing issues and science gaps by pushing the frontiers of science and education in areas most of us love. We can initiate new innovative projects, attract and retain world-class scientists, make objective science available and understandable, and enhance formal and informal education that improves science literacy for people of all ages. We will bring science to people and people to science.

With your support, we know we can make a difference, because we have done so in the past. Contributions to BSI can be made through the MSU Foundation, a tax-exempt public organization under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
