For the first time ever, BSI will be hosting a weekly WildWatch where kids learn how to track nature’s changing cycles in their own Big Sky backyard. Each week, campers will monitor different natural features and track how they change throughout the summer. As always, fun games and crafts will enhance each week’s science activities. Participants will learn about plant growth cycles, stream levels and flow, soil moisture, climate and more! Presentation and picnic on the final day. Single day participants are welcome.

Wildlife & Changing Landscapes in Big Sky & Southwestern Montana

Join us for an evening talk about science happening right in Big Sky's backyard. With fascinating information provided straight from the experts, you are sure to learn something new about the Big Sky area and all the scientific mysteries you can find right out the backdoor.

We’ll spend Friday in Big Sky doing hands-on activities and we’ll take a field trip to explore Yellowstone National Park on Saturday. Don’t miss your chance to discover extreme environments.

This 2-day workshop brings together MSU’s TerraPod program and the Big Sky Institute to teach students how to create science and nature films, from storytelling to music to style. It is recommended that students enroll in the Camp Big Sky filmmaking camp (July 20-23) or have previous experience before enrolling for the workshop.

Science Family Friday is a BSI hosted day of nature, science, and adventure activities that explore the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Activities are professionally led by experts in science, nature, and adventure. These are a fantastic value for a day of fun and science for the whole family!
