Place-based Science Education & Outreach
In the 1970s, Big Sky was carved out of semi-primitive wildlands of the West Fork basin. Big Sky is BSI's base of operations, with a new local office, providing an interface between the rapidly changing community adn world renowned wildlands, offering significant research and monitoring opportunities. Growing local BSI programs such as the Mountains & Minds lecture series, science fellows at Ophir School, naturalist talks, and citizen science opportunities, enhance science education and environmental literacy for people of all ages. Please see our community events page for specific programs.

Our new office located in Westfork Meadows, Big Sky
